It's taken 4 hours of train travel, 6 hours by bus and 34 hours on the ferry... But we've made it to Turkey. At the moment we're in a port town called marmaris. Sophie, Emma and I are sitting in the courtyard of our very nice (and cheap!) hostel waiting for the heat to die down. This is one of the best places we've stayed so far. Mainly because seconds after our arrival we were introduced to the hostel's resident obese cat who "dances" (read: writhes around on her back kicking her legs) when the staff clap there hands. We were also offered a glass of cold apple tea which is a contender for my new favourite drink.
We spent 5 days in Greece on our way here. It was very beautiful there but I think we didn't spend enough time there to learn how the country works and be promoted above

dumb tourists, something the locals were quick to acknowledge.
Tomorrow we catch a midnight bus to Side, and then the free accommodation madness begins!
